Position Overview:

The Safety and Security Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our hotel environment. This individual will respond to emergencies involving guests and staff, document incidents, and conduct regular security inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of scheduled events, hotel services, operational hours, facility layout, emergency protocols, and departmental policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Front Office to ensure the safety of guests and staff, effectively managing situations involving individuals who may be under the influence or otherwise impaired.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all security systems, including CCTV, communication radios, key card access, and fire safety panels.
  • Provide safe escorts for employees in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Coordinate responses to emergency situations as outlined in the departmental manual.
  • Oversee general liability claims and manage emergency and life safety situations during overnight shifts.
  • Monitor surveillance systems as assigned and investigate alarm activations, adhering to established procedures.
  • Conduct property patrols using designated equipment, ensuring all points are checked and actions documented according to departmental standards.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience that demonstrates the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid Driver's License and familiarity with local laws, investigative techniques, and fire safety protocols.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Completion of an alcohol awareness program or the ability to achieve certification.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to provide clear communication and directions.
  • Proficient in PC operations and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and internet navigation.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a security role.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk moderate distances.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
