Position Summary

The role involves the creation, validation, testing, documentation, implementation, and oversight of intricate statistical models. These models span various products and services, all integral to the financial decision-making framework. Key responsibilities include:

  • Documenting the development and testing processes of advanced statistical models.
  • Communicating model findings and methodologies to stakeholders within the organization.
  • Producing comprehensive model development and validation documentation, including presentations, written reports, model code documentation, business requirements, monitoring reports, and procedural guidelines.

Essential Qualifications

- A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline with five or more years of relevant experience
OR
- A Master’s degree in a quantitative field with three or more years of related experience
OR
- A PhD in a quantitative area with less than two years of related experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Proficiency in financial forecasting, net credit losses, loss given default, contra-asset counts, and portfolio analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of regression techniques, parametric and non-parametric algorithms, time series analysis, survival analysis, and other statistical methodologies, along with experience in model validation tests and methodologies using tools such as SAS, Python, or R.
- Competence in handling and integrating large datasets, particularly within a SQL framework.
- Familiarity with the financial structures of consumer installment loans and leases, as well as common risk factors.
- Strong skills in data compilation, programming, data interpretation, and qualitative analysis.
- Experience in modeling and forecasting credit losses related to consumer installment loans and leases.
- Comprehensive understanding of quantitative and qualitative risk factors, industry risks, competitive risks, and risk management strategies relevant to consumer installment loans and leases.
- Basic knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines and supervisory letters.
- Experience in thoroughly documenting modeling decisions and frameworks, archiving code and datasets for reproducibility, and articulating modeling choices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects across various timelines.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and project management capabilities.
- Demonstrated independence, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days.
