Sterile Processing Specialist

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Specialist to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
About the Role:
This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of decontamination, assembly, inspection, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. You will work closely with the Operating Room staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts. A key aspect of this role is ensuring consistent and continuous workflow between the OR and Sterile Processing while practicing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of instrument counts, repair, and maintenance
- Develop and implement effective cleaning and disinfection protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on industry best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in sterile processing or a related field
- Certifications: CRCST, CSPDT, or other relevant certifications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
