Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Bone Marrow Transplant unit at the University of Kentucky. As a member of our team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with various hematologic malignancies, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
About the RoleThis is a dynamic and collaborative environment where you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care for your patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, ensuring patient satisfaction and delivering compassionate care
- Develop and implement individualized nursing plans, incorporating evidence-based practice guidelines and patient-centered care principles
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to enhance patient outcomes and improve communication
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- Knowledge of Maslow's Basic Human Needs and Gordon's Functional Health Patterns Framework
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Basic computer navigation skills and working knowledge of the internet
- Strong organizational and delegation skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
The University of Kentucky offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
