Job Title: Juvenile Detention Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Juvenile Detention Officer to join our team at the Snohomish County Juvenile Detention Center. As a Juvenile Detention Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of detained youth, while also providing a supportive and therapeutic environment for their rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor the behavior of detained youth, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Provide guidance and support to youth, promoting positive behavior and life skills.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each youth.
  • Conduct regular checks on youth, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience working with youth, preferably in a detention or correctional setting.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain a valid Washington State driver's license.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required within 6 months of employment.
