Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Complete Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting healthcare providers with examinations and treatments, taking vital signs, and accurately recording patient information into our electronic medical records system.

Key Responsibilities

Assist healthcare providers with examinations and treatments
Take vital signs, including manual blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, oxygen level, weight, and height
Prepare exam rooms for patient examinations and stock them with necessary supplies
Hand instruments and materials to healthcare providers as directed
Clean and sterilize instruments
Perform EKGs, urinalysis, strep tests, flu tests, COVID tests, mono tests, pregnancy tests, and A1C checks
Administer injections as directed by healthcare providers
Handle portal messages from patients, refill medications, order additional labs or imaging as needed, complete prior authorizations, and complete precertification for imaging
Maintain effective communication skills and instruct patients and/or their families as directed by healthcare providers
Call patients to discuss results as directed by healthcare providers while maintaining patient confidentiality
Key data into EMR to maintain office and patient records

Requirements

Clinical Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant active certificate
Equivalent from two-year college or technical school
Six months to one-year related experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience to be determined by leadership
Knowledge of Word Processing software, Internet software, EMR systems (Athena preferred), and Database software

Working Environment

The position requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and finger use. Pushing and pulling are occasionally required. Use of a computer, keyboard, and telephone along with various office machines is an essential part of the job.
