Role Overview:
In the position of School Psychologist, you will play a vital role within our supportive and collaborative Deafblind Program. This is an opportunity to work in an environment where student needs are prioritized, and your contributions have a meaningful impact on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions while conducting thorough diagnostic assessments for students with visual impairments, including those who are Deafblind and multiply impaired.
- Provide training and support to program staff on clinical matters, engage with families of students, and offer case management services.
- Design and implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual students, ensuring consistent application across relevant personnel.
- Facilitate crisis intervention in educational settings and provide ongoing behavioral consultation to staff.
- Participate in interdisciplinary evaluation teams and act as a liaison with external mental health professionals.
- Contribute to research initiatives focused on individuals with visual impairments and assist in developing measurement tools for this population.
- Engage in program meetings, case reviews, and IEP discussions, preparing comprehensive reports on student progress and needs.
- Deliver formal and informal training sessions for staff to enhance their understanding of psychological practices.
- Assist in the evaluation and placement of individuals referred for services, participating in interdisciplinary teams to determine appropriate programming.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students through field placements and provide supervision as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare statistical data regarding service delivery as required.
Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved institution is required, along with Massachusetts DESE Certification as a School Psychologist and a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
