About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Home Health Aide to join our team at Visiting Nurse Service of New York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including ambulation, transfer, and personal care.
  • Provide ostomy care and assist with medical equipment, supplies, and devices as prescribed.
  • Assist with self-administered medication and perform light housekeeping activities.
  • Observe, report, and record changes in the client's condition and environment.
  • Adhere to accepted infection control practices and ensure client's rights and confidentiality are maintained.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of New York State Health Department approved HHA Training Program or Equivalency.
  • Sixth (6) grade reading comprehension level.
  • Writing and math skill level to the extent necessary for the successful and safe performance of required job functions.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Physical Requirements

  • Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting adult clients.
  • Standing and walking for extensive periods, as well as bending and climbing stairs.
  • Commonly lifts, carries, and maneuvers items weighing more than 50 lbs.
