About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists during examinations and treatments, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Prepare the operatory with necessary instruments and materials for scheduled patients.
  • Mix and fabricate restorative materials as needed.
  • Sterilize instruments and disinfect the operatory between patients.
  • Develop and mount routine radiographs, and assist in exposing intro-oral radiographs.
  • Maintain and clean the x-ray unit, film processor, autoclave, wet tank, and dental unit according to specifications.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, such as mixing impression materials for dentures, and assist in clinical procedures of prostatic dentistry.
  • Assist with infection control, general cleanliness, and sterile conditions for the dental unit.
  • Perform inventory and order supplies to maintain established levels.
  • Assist in maintaining dental charts, dental findings, and confidentiality of records, and schedule patients for dental appointments.
  • Collect requested data for clinical records.
  • Comply with dental office security, perpetual inventory, inspection of dental tools, and complete corresponding documentation.
  • Maintain current CPR/AED certification.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification by the Dental Assisting National Board preferred.
  • Certification by the Board of Dental Examiners as a Dental Radiation Technologist preferred.
