Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Empire Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - Albany. As a Dental Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, preparing treatment rooms, and assisting dentists during procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring their comfort and providing education throughout treatment
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient health histories to provide quality care
  • Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments using state-of-the-art technology
  • Provide superior chairside assistance to supported dentists during a wide variety of procedures
  • Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping
  • Prepare treatment rooms with strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA/CDC recommendations
  • Manage supply and inventory levels, as well as place and expedite orders as needed
  • Partner with providers and team members to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize office workflow

Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and customer-centric environment
  • Minimum qualifications may include dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification, depending on state dental practice act requirements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
