Daemen University is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our sports medicine team. As an integral member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing top-notch athletic training services to our intercollegiate athletic teams and club sports.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Athletic Training Services: In coordination with the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine & Performance, you will staff the athletic training facilities and provide athletic training services, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary.
- Prevention and Treatment of Injuries: You will provide athletic training services for the University's division of Athletics, including prevention, recognition, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries.
- Facility Management: You will assist in staffing and the day-to-day operations of the athletic training facilities, including inventory management and maintenance of sports medicine supplies.
- Education and Counseling: You will educate, counsel, and advise athletes on health-related issues, including nutrition and substance abuse.
- Compliance and Risk Management: You will comply with all policies and procedures related to sports medicine, including emergency action plans and exposure control plans for bloodborne pathogens.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in athletic training, exercise science, health or human performance or related field.
- Experience: Master's degree and previous collegiate athletic training experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong time management, interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work long periods under conditions requiring moderate physical demands, including standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting.
- Health Insurance: Health insurance with an option of two plans: an HSA plan with the deductible funded by employer HSA contributions, or a copay plan.
- Dental and Vision Insurance: Dental insurance through the Guardian network and vision insurance through the Guardian network or Davis plans.
- Retirement Plan: 8% employer contribution to the retirement savings account when employees contribute just 5%.
- Time Off: Generous time off for administrative and staff employees.
- Tuition Waiver: Tuition waiver for full-time employees and their qualified dependents.
