- Provide technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
- Deliver high-quality patient care and handle other duties as required and assigned.
- Assist cardiologists in performing invasive coronary/vascular/EP diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.
- Set up and operate a variety of electrical/imaging equipment and computers.
- Display good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Organize and prioritize performance based on procedural findings.
- Advocate for patient needs.
- Interpret hemodynamic and procedural results/outcomes.
- Select and operate procedural supplies/equipment based on procedural findings.
- Operate monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
- Communicate effectively with patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure focused patient care.
- Recognize and assist with anesthesia needs for deeply sedated or anesthetized patients.
- Collaborate with research RN/Coordinator in carrying out laboratory-based research.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and professional interaction to facilitate patient safety, satisfaction, and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers in planning patient care specific to procedures.
- Assume accountability for patient care by directing team members as needed.
- Train and mentor team members effectively.
- Interact professionally with vendors to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with equipment changes and updates knowledge and skills accordingly.
- Check and evaluate equipment for adequate performance and general safety.
- Manage digital archiving systems for safe storage of patient images and reports.
- Notify personnel of malfunctioning equipment and remove it promptly.
- Report equipment or supply malfunctions or defective status proactively.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment issues.
- Query archived images from deep archive storage and create CDs for transmission of patient information.
- Provide care to patients undergoing coronary invasive procedures in the Cath Lab.
- Report significant observations and reactions to personnel and document care provided.
- Maintain a working knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Assist in passing sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices using aseptic technique.
- Prepare instruments for sterilization.
- Suggest equipment or procedural changes required for quality patient care.
- Prepare sterile fields.
- Observe for deviations from proper aseptic technique and correct them.
- Report significant observations to personnel and document observations and care provided.
- Accurately interpret EKGs and alert physicians to irregular activity.
- IEMA (Illinois state) License in Rad Technology.
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
- ACLS (American Heart Assoc.)
- ARRT Registration in Radiology.
