Job Summary

The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care based on the nursing process for the CAC Digestive Health Institute.
  • Function as the primary contact for patients and provide education as needed to patients/family related to surgical care, diagnostic procedures, medication, and other complex aspects of the plan of care.
  • Assure that the continuum of care process is complete to include: pre-procedure & surgery, therapy protocols, hospitalization, anticipated discharge needs, and follow up in the physician offices.
  • Support the faculty in clinic for every patient care session.
  • Occasionally perform scheduling of office visits and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Current CA RN license.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from AHA.
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese (certain clinics may require this qualification).
