Position Overview

CyCan Industries, a prominent player in the aerosol manufacturing sector, is in search of a meticulous and seasoned Logistics Operations Supervisor to manage our shipping and receiving functions. The successful candidate will possess at least 2 years of relevant experience, hold a forklift certification, be adept in logistics software, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to evolving schedules. This position is vital for ensuring the seamless and effective movement of products in and out of our facility, with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and prompt processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the daily activities of the shipping department, ensuring precise and efficient shipping and receiving operations.
  • Leverage logistics software to oversee inventory management and shipment tracking.
  • Safely and efficiently operate a forklift for various tasks, including loading and unloading trucks, relocating materials, and organizing the storage area.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized shipping environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards at all times.
  • Supervise and assist with the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring the safe handling of materials.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to enhance and streamline shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Adapt schedules and priorities to meet fluctuating demands and guarantee timely delivery of products.
  • Monitor stock levels and contribute to maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members in the shipping and receiving department as necessary.
  • Ensure all outgoing shipments are appropriately packaged, labeled, and documented.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and uphold a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics and inventory management.
  • Mechanical aptitude to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Proficiency with logistics software for tracking and managing shipments.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to adjust to a dynamic work schedule and implement changes swiftly.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Physical capability to lift and transport heavy materials (50lbs or more).
  • Familiarity with propane and gas handling procedures is advantageous.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • In-depth understanding of shipping and receiving processes, including experience with third-party logistics operations.
