About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Downstream Processing and Scale-Up to join our team at VamosVentures. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for driving the transition of our technology from pilot scale to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring the seamless scale-up of downstream processing (DSP) operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Scale-Up of DSP Operations: Develop and implement strategies for efficient and cost-effective production, ensuring the successful transition of our technology from pilot scale to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Develop and Grow the DSP Team: Build and lead a high-performing DSP team, capable of supporting scale-up activities in-house and at contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs).
  • Collaborate with CMOs and CDMS: Work closely with CMOs and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) to ensure smooth technology transfer and scaling processes.
  • Establish Robust Processes: Develop and maintain robust processes to ensure product quality and consistency, ensuring reliable production of protein with MVP processes.
  • Build Scale-Up and Down Models: Develop sufficient scale-up and down models to allow seamless transfer of processes to industrial production scale.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 Years of Experience: In downstream processing and scale-up in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or food tech industries.
  • Ability to Travel: Ability to travel to our CMOs and represent VamosVentures as a DSP expert.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, bioprocess engineering, biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record of successfully scaling up DSP operations from pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Extensive Experience with CMOs: Extensive experience with CMOs and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).
  • Deep Understanding of DSP Technologies: Deep understanding of DSP technologies and processes, including purification, filtration, and centrifugation.
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make real-time adjustments to processes.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
