Wound Care Specialist

United Wound Healing PS is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a Skin and Wound Care Provider. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and contribute to our mission of changing wound care and improving lives.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams. As a Skin and Wound Care Provider, you will travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls, providing the highest quality skin and wound care services to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams
- Travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls
- Provide the highest quality skin and wound care services to patients
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies to assess change to patients' health care needs
- Perform bedside wound care skills including: wound assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures
- Track the progress of wound healing and document timely in UWH's own wound care EMR
- Develop a treatment plan for skin and wound conditions based on the individual needs of each patient, and UWH's Clinical Practice Guidelines
- Collaborate virtually with our medical leadership including board certified physicians and surgeons specializing in wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease
Requirements
- This fast-paced position requires standing for extended amounts of time
- Driving You must have reliable transportation; valid driver's license and current auto insurance
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP, ARNP, APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) licensed in working state
- Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
- 1-2 years of wound care and/or surgical experience (highly preferred, but not required); extensive training available
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work/schedule appointments independently
- Must be trustworthy, honest and have a positive and professional attitude
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people through both verbal and written communication lines
