We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Clinical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing social services to patients and families, working collaboratively with the treatment team to develop and implement treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Participate as an integral member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, led by a physician, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Provide direct one-on-one psychotherapy services to patients, as requested, and facilitate therapeutic milieu on the treatment unit.
- Assist medical staff in determining the appropriateness of services and receive referrals for intervention.
- Assess psychosocial needs, including high-risk indicators, and document psychosocial history/assessment.
- Correlate assembled data on the psychosocial history to inform treatment planning.
- Perform continued-care planning with the treatment team.
- Provide group therapy and act as a liaison for patients and their families to community agencies, consultants, and services.
- Record and chart all patient contacts as required.
- Provide direct family therapy to patients and their families, as directed by treatment planning and program requirements.
- Maintain certification, licensure, and competency through supervision and/or training and successful completion of annual performance evaluations.
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Licensure in a related field, such as LCSW, LICSW, LPC, or Supervised-Psychologist or Licensed Psychologist.
- West Virginia state criminal background check and federal background check, if applicable, required for DHHR regulated area.
- AVADE training required within 90 days or hire.
- Advanced certification in a related field.
- Prior experience in behavioral health.
The Clinical Therapist will work in a variety of settings, possibly in noisy environments, and will be required to work with difficult or challenging clients of various ages and demographics.
Skills and Abilities- Interpersonal skills to positively and effectively communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
- Competent clinical practice and critical thinking skills to efficiently deliver patient care.
- Ability to be flexible in response to changes in work volume, staff, and scheduling changes.
- Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and work assignments.
