Job Overview

Isobar Public Sector is in search of a Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert (SME). The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and practical experience in designing, constructing, and managing elastic, cost-efficient, resilient, and secure cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Provide technical and managerial leadership on significant tasks or technology assignments.
  • Establish objectives and plans that align with project goals.
  • Design, build, and operate cloud architectures that are elastic, cost-effective, resilient, and secure, utilizing modern methodologies such as service mesh and loosely coupled design.
  • Maintain, configure, and monitor containerized environments following Infrastructure as Code principles across Development, Testing, and Production settings.
  • Develop and implement network connectivity solutions, provisioning strategies, and assess and design Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) requirements to ensure a robust cloud foundation with necessary compliance.
  • Create containerized solutions for both relational and non-relational databases, focusing on data auditing, caching, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with fellow architects on security, data protection, and failover strategies.
  • Document all implementations thoroughly.
  • Design and implement Kubernetes solutions for both cloud and edge environments.
  • Implement Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment using various CI/CD tools and container registries.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code for edge Kubernetes deployments.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be:

  • A US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experienced with over 8 years in DevSecOps methodologies and tools, including CI/CD, GitOps, and both static and dynamic testing.
  • Proficient with at least 5 years of experience in edge and hybrid edge deployments.
  • Capable of providing technical guidance to engineers in an Agile setting for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Skilled with 5 years of hands-on experience in packaging and securing applications as containers, particularly in Kubernetes.
  • Knowledgeable in building scalable platforms for containerized workloads using Kubernetes, including cluster provisioning, operations, workload optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with core Kubernetes APIs and cluster architecture, as well as services and networking.
  • Experienced in GitOps and Continuous Deployment in hybrid environments.
  • Expert in Kubernetes, Istio, and Helm, with experience in creating custom Helm charts.
  • Advanced in using Ansible playbooks and roles, Linux administration, and bare metal deployments.
  • Knowledgeable in security and compliance aspects of Kubernetes.
Additional Information

Strong communication and client-facing skills are essential. Certification as a Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is advantageous. Experience with Platform One is also a plus.
