Nursing Director Labor and Delivery Job Description

Baptist Health System - San Antonio TX is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Director to lead the Labor and Delivery team.

Job Summary

This is a leadership role that requires a strong background in nursing and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring high-quality patient care and excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Labor and Delivery team, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient flow and coordination of care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Labor and Delivery team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Requirements
  • Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
