Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Northern California Behavioral Health System. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals struggling with mental health issues.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing the needs of prospective patients and phone callers, ensuring their referral to the service or resource that best addresses those needs. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from individuals seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services.
  • Collect and analyze data regarding patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural, and anticipated discharge needs.
  • Conduct screenings or assessments to determine patients' needs for treatment.
  • Render care and treatment in a competent manner, based on current chemical dependency and psychiatric nursing/clinical knowledge and standards.
  • Facilitate patients' access to the appropriate level of care and setting.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient services counselors and coordinators, intake department, physicians, and health professional affiliates.
  • Document patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform related duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of California.
  • Inpatient experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with continuum of care and clinical terminology.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders diagnostic criteria.
