Overview

The US Oncology Network is seeking a highly skilled Insurance Specialist to support our Regional Business Office location in Austin, TX. This full-time position will work in a hybrid remote environment, supporting our team with a focus on timely and accurate payment processing.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage delinquent accounts, performing collection efforts with payers and resolving billing issues.
  • Identify trends with payors and report to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with regional representatives to resolve issues with payors.
  • Prepare comprehensive appeals to resolve denials with insurance companies.
  • Review reports, research, and resolve issues related to payment postings and account balances.
  • Work with colleagues to resolve insurance payment and billing errors.
  • Monitor and update delinquent accounts status, recommending accounts for collection or write-off as necessary.
  • Communicate with patients to secure past due balances, verify patient demographics and insurance providers, and update information in systems.
  • Maintain credit balances of patients and payors, ensuring timely refunds within government guidelines and regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) years combined medical billing and payment experience required.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of state, federal, and third-party claims processing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal collections guidelines.
  • CPC certification preferred.
Work Environment

This position requires frequent contact with staff and occasional exposure to direct contact with patients. The work environment is an office setting, and the employee must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
