We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a treatment or educational milieu.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care in a safe and secure environment that enhances treatment and educational effectiveness.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide support with physical needs.
  • Chart observations and other required documentation on assigned patients.
  • Participate in the development, coordination, and implementation of patient treatment programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Training in Mental Health Technology within 6 months
  • 1/2 year (6 months) directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with potentially combative patients. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established departmental policies and procedures.
