About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at DESC. As a key member of our Mobile Response Team, you will provide critical services to clients impacted by alcohol or other drug use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct alcohol and drug screenings, and assessments on selected clients, developing support and treatment plans in collaboration with the client.
  • Facilitate linkages to collaborative resources, ensuring continuity of care and client access to community services.
  • Provide substance abuse consultation to housing staff, promoting a comprehensive approach to client care.
  • Participate in psychiatric consultation, supervision, program meetings, and in-service trainings, maintaining current and complete clinical records.
  • Advocate for client access to community resources and services, ensuring client needs are met and rights maintained.
Requirements
  • Licensed by the State of Washington as a Substance Use Disorder Professional in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of recovery and resilience, client partnerships, and client choice.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behaviors.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to work in a highly collaborative and potentially stressful environment.
