Neurology Specialist

UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center is seeking an experienced Outpatient Neurologist to join our team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care in our ambulatory setting.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in neurology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Provide Comprehensive Care: Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose, and manage a wide range of neurological conditions, including epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and stroke.
- Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans, and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Promote Health Education: Educate patients and their families on neurological conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques to empower them to take an active role in their care.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, such as developing and implementing evidence-based guidelines, and participating in peer review and feedback processes.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current Medical License: Possess a valid medical license in the State of Maryland.
- Board Certification: Be board certified in neurology or a related field.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
