Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing projects across various stages of product development and manufacturing processes. They will provide technical leadership within the Engineering team to support new product development and legacy product improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the execution of manufacturing and design projects and provide regular reports on project status to project team and key stakeholders.
  • Provide scope development, technical support, and leadership for engineered solutions.
  • Consistently visualize entire scope of a project with very little guidance.
  • Schedule, develop agendas, facilitate, and document project meetings.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver program objectives, facilitate timely problem-solving, and decision-making, and function as a technical lead.
  • Assist with completion of the New Product Development stage gate requirements.
  • Design and produce creative solutions in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
  • Follow established procedures for creation and maintenance of CAD databases and libraries.
  • Prepare written documentation of processes, material requirements, test results, and project activity as required.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other business functions.
  • Support supply chain and quality assurance with first article inspection reports and design changes to meet changing supplier specifications.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis on new and existing products.
  • Provide Engineering support to Sales/Marketing and Manufacturing on new and existing products and processes.
  • Construct and test prototype components or assemblies as required in the development and approval process.

Requirements

  • Excellent organization skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects, and report progress and necessary corrective actions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor, MS Office, and data management concepts.
  • Demands attention to detail with project scheduling and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the company, both written and verbal, and competency presenting testing results.
  • Desire to work on projects demanding fast prototyping and production startups.
  • Ability to do field product testing.
  • Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs.
  • Capable of operating hand tools while working on a ladder.
  • 5+ years' project or product management experience.
  • Experience taking multiple concurrent projects from concept to launch.
  • Familiarity with a new product development stage gate system.
  • BSME or equivalent engineering degree preferred.
