Experienced Controller for Wholesale Nursery

A wholesale nursery with locations in Washington and Oregon is seeking an experienced Controller to manage the administrative and accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly reconciliation process, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, credit cards, and other financial activities.
- Prepare internal monthly financial statements, providing insights into the company's financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state tax regulations and manage payroll functions.
- Plan administrator for qualified plans and respond to employee inquiries regarding the 401(k) plan.
- Manage asset protection and insurance programs, including benefit and business insurance, and risk management activities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with firms, banks, and other commercial lenders.
- Collaborate with the CPA to prepare year-end financial statements and tax returns.
- Work with managers to analyze sales projections and profit margins.
Required Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professionalism and diplomacy in interactions with employees, management, and external partners.
- Strong accounting and GAAP knowledge, with experience in Dynamics 365 Business Central or ability to learn.
- Supervisory skills and ability to lead a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formula capabilities, and Microsoft Word.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
