Position Title: Facility Maintenance Specialist
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Compensation: $16.30 per hour
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Position Purpose: The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with upholding the cleanliness and safety of both the interior and exterior spaces, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for all personnel, residents, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere for all personnel, residents, and visitors.
- Conduct daily cleaning routines for the facility and surrounding grounds, including snow and ice management.
- Keep the building's exterior free from graffiti and other unsightly conditions.
- Repair furniture, appliances, and equipment as necessary.
- Perform spackling, sanding, and painting of walls and ceilings as needed.
- Execute minor plumbing repairs.
- Carry out routine maintenance inspections of units.
- Conduct seasonal cleaning and repairs for heating and cooling systems.
- Inspect and maintain smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
- Change and repair door locks.
- Install sheetrock as required.
- Perform minor electrical repairs.
- Maintain records related to building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete other related tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to ascend and descend up to 8 flights of stairs.
- Willingness to work with hazardous materials while utilizing appropriate protective gear.
Qualifications:
- Dedication to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to effectively engage with the client population.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to accept guidance from the Maintenance Director or designee.
- Valid driver's license is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
