Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Berry Global. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. This is a regular full-time position that requires a strong background in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplify Berry Global's Behaviors and Values at all times, leading by example and exhibiting professionalism in all areas.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance personnel and mold technicians to maintain equipment and ensure quality product release.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optic systems.
  • Pre-inspect parts and equipment to determine required parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.
  • Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls, replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears, and related equipment.
  • Communicate with plant personnel to review deficiencies and accurately log work performed.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Perform PMs, cleans, and lubricates molding machines and equipment.
  • Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment.
  • Perform mechanic skills, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Visually inspect and solve problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation.
  • Document repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing, technical school, or combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
  • Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, to effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Independent in working effectively with little supervision, self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
  • Extensive knowledge with electrical, hydraulic, and injection molding machines.
  • Strong PLC programming skills.
  • Ability to train others and work as a cross-functional team member.
