Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Maryland Heights, MO. As a Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics and repairs.
  • Conduct complex mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Replace defective components as instructed.
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks.
  • Perform facility maintenance duties.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
  • Basic tools, required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred.
  • All other certification as required by location, required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
