Job Summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Ray Hickey Hospice House. As a CNA, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our nursing staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assist professional nursing personnel in providing quality patient care
  • Perform basic technical skills, including CPR, vital sign measurement, and treatment administration
  • Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
  • Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed
  • Maintain unit supplies and document patient care data
Qualifications
  • Accredited Program Required: Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care facility
  • Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs
Skills
  • Demonstrates a courteous, caring, and understanding attitude towards patients, families, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers, and physicians
  • Must be well organized, flexible, and able to function effectively and independently as assigned
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette, and customer service skills
Working Conditions
  • Lifting: Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
  • Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force
  • Perform hands-on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force
Environmental Conditions
  • Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment
Mental/Visual
  • Vision and hearing required within normal limits
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
