About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Medical Charge Entry Specialist to work with our clients at Medical Personnel Services. The ideal candidate will have strong data entry skills, knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, and proficiency in medical billing software.

This role involves accurately reviewing patient medical records, verifying insurance information, and inputting relevant billing codes and charges into a computer system. You will also be responsible for analyzing patient demographics, insurance details, diagnoses, procedures, and associated charges to ensure complete and accurate billing information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data entry: Accurately entering patient demographics, insurance details, diagnoses, procedures, and associated charges into the billing system based on medical records.
  • Medical record review: Analyzing patient medical records to ensure complete and accurate billing information, including verifying procedure codes and diagnoses.
  • Coding accuracy: Applying the correct medical billing codes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) based on the patient's diagnosis and procedures performed.
  • Insurance verification: Checking patient insurance eligibility and benefits to confirm coverage for services rendered.
  • Claim scrubbing: Identifying and correcting any errors or inconsistencies in billing data before submitting claims to insurance companies.
  • Billing compliance: Adhering to HIPAA regulations and all relevant medical billing guidelines to ensure accurate and compliant claims submission.
  • Follow-up on outstanding claims: Contacting insurance companies to inquire about the status of submitted claims and resolve any billing issues.
  • Reporting: Generating reports on billing activity, including charge volume, rejected claims, and outstanding accounts receivable.

Our company offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
