Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality physical therapy treatments to patients under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist.
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in conducting tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions, reactions, and responses related to treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments and document progress notes on patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to consult with family members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized Physical Therapy department and equipment.
  • Participate in in-service programs and other meetings as assigned by the Physical Therapist.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical currency and stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
  • Adhere to Vertis Therapy's management policies and procedures, as well as state, federal, and professional organization regulatory and professional standards and guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
Requirements
  • Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Current license or eligibility for licensure under state statutes in the state of practice.
  • Preferably, a minimum of one year of rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility.
  • Active membership in the state and national American Physical Therapy Association is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate computer skills to complete required job duties and computerized documentation.
  • Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Physical Therapist and the policies and procedures of Vertis Therapy.
