Job Summary:
The Assistant Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the processing plant, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and driving plant performance to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the processing of assigned products in accordance with scheduled requirements, ensuring efficient production and quality control.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet cost standards, safety requirements, environmental, quality, and food safety specifications, resulting in maximum output at the lowest possible costs.
- Maintain an effective plant organization, fostering a culture of employee development and utilization, to achieve maximum productivity and employee engagement.
- Develop and execute plans to achieve plant financial targets and goals, driving business growth and profitability.
- Create and maintain programs for employee development and training, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Serve as a champion for company-wide safety programs and initiatives, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
- Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree plus six years of experience in poultry processing, with a strong background in operations management.
- Progressive managerial experience, with a minimum of five years, is required, preferably in the foodservice and portion control side of the business.
- Ability to lead a diverse team to achieve departmental goals, with strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented, structured, and able to work within timelines and pressure situations, with excellent follow-through on assigned tasks.
