Job Summary

This position will assist with administrative duties and testing support at Louisiana State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing academic support services and accommodations for students with disabilities, as well as administering the DS examination program.

Key Responsibilities
  • 40% - Academic Support Services: Assist in the coordination and implementation of appropriate academic support services and accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as well as other federal guidelines and university policies and procedures.
  • 40% - DS Examination Program Administration: Coordinate and administer the DS examination program, including intake of Examination Request Forms, data entry into the testing database, scheduling of proctors, readers, and scribes, contacting professors/instructors, scheduling examination location, delivery of exams, and filing forms.
  • 20% - Front Office Operations: Assist in the front office operation, including answering the telephone, processing incoming and outgoing faxes, coordinating accommodation and testing, and coordinating appointments with students and coordinators.
Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Additional Information

This position has an obligation to assist students in the acquisition of necessary services. The employee should refer students to the proper service within the Student Health Center if they appear to be in need of assistance with emotional, behavioral, or mental health-related matters. In situations where a student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students, or the appropriate law enforcement agency.
