Job Summary

Solvere Technical Group LLC is seeking a highly skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team. As a Marine Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing support services for the maintenance, overhaul, and upkeep of small boats for the USCG.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a team to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on USCG vessels.
  • Perform equipment and component assessments and repairs.
  • Identify failures and potential failures, and assess the condition of boats and components.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of small boat sponson collar systems.
  • Perform all manner of mechanical and electrical repairs and replacements of trailer components.
  • Conduct regular schedule boat maintenance, including oil and filter changes, and perform basic electrical troubleshooting, installation, and testing.
  • Conduct operational testing and quality inspections, and ensure that work is performed correctly and on time, according to USCG standards.
  • Transport boats using company-provided vehicles to pick up and deliver boats to and from client locations around the continental US.
  • Launch and recover boats for testing and evaluation, and operate a forklift safely.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Current USCG-approved boating course certification.
  • Experience using various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience with RHIB for federal or USCG boats is desirable.
  • Must provide a clean driving record and provide own tools and tool box.
Desired Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with Mercruiser Bravo series outdrives.
  • Familiarity with Hamilton jet drives.
  • Familiarity with Cummins QSB 6.7 marine engines.
  • Familiarity with other various marine propulsion diesels under 300hp.
  • Familiarity with DC Systems and schematics.
Security and Physical Requirements
  • Must pass a standard background check.
  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperatures.
  • Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
