The Clinical Laboratory Specialist is responsible for conducting both manual and automated routine blood analyses. This role involves preparing specimens for microscopic evaluation and operating essential laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. The position requires a blend of experience and judgment to effectively plan and achieve objectives, while also performing a diverse range of tasks that may require innovative thinking and flexibility. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
- Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Technology program and successfully passed the national examination administered by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the clinical laboratory field is essential.
- A current TN State license as a Medical Technologist or MLT is required.
