The Registered Nurse Shift Supervisor is a key member of the departmental leadership team, responsible for providing clinical supervision on a shift basis. This includes coordinating patient care, facilitating admissions, discharges, and transfers, and coordinating unit staffing for the next shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical supervision on a shift basis, including coordination of patient care and unit staffing.
- Facilitate admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring smooth patient flow.
- Coordinate unit staffing for the next shift, working closely with the Director/Clinical Manager, Coordinator, and House Officer.
- Serve as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for staff, providing supervisory input into department evaluations and performance reviews.
- Complete established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong clinical background and experience in emergency department triage are essential.
