At Purelight Power, we are seeking a skilled Solar Repair Technician to join our team. As a key member of our solar installation and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our solar systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the loading and unloading of company vehicles and equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems, including flashing, racking, module-level power electronics, array wiring, and junction boxes.
- Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics, and other residential and commercial areas, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
- Pull materials accurately based on construction plans and specifications.
- Fill in for the Lead Installer as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Develop a basic understanding of testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting system components.
- Follow technical installation instructions and schematics, ensuring accurate and efficient work.
- Navigate our work platform, CRM, and other applications with ease.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site and work truck, adhering to company standards.
- Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- Interact with clients in a respectful and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Perform other related duties as required, demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow.
- Obtain Fall protection certification, Electrical Safety certification, and OSHA 10 safety training, as provided by the employer.
- Be prepared for occasional overnight travel, as needed.
Required Tools and Equipment:
- Personal hand tools, including a screwdriver set, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact-rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag, or backpack.
- Weather-appropriate attire, including at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel worn at all times when on the clock.
- Weather and job-appropriate footwear.
Supplied Tools and Equipment:
- Safety harness and rope with rope grab and shock absorber.
- Fall protection anchors and devices.
- Power tools, including impact, drill, and circular/reciprocating saw.
Department/ Direct Supervisor:
- Solar Repair/Lead Installer.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Comfortable climbing a ladder and working on a roof.
- Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Team-oriented.
- Good attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to maintain a professional attitude.
- Ability to maintain company tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
- Basic understanding of common solar installation practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
- Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45-degree pitch.
- Clean driving record and driver's license.
Compensation: $20-$24 per hour.
