About the Role

As a key member of our team at Advocate Aurora Health, the Occupational and Employee Health Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our employees. This position oversees the daily operations of patient accounting, focusing on maximizing revenue and reimbursement. The supervisor is responsible for maintaining and developing systems to ensure data integrity, while also ensuring that all functions, including customer service, data entry, insurance verification, claims processing, refunds, follow-up, and cash applications, are performed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of patient accounting to ensure maximization of revenue and reimbursement.
  • Maintain and develop systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure all functions, including customer service, data entry, insurance verification, claims processing, refunds, follow-up, and cash applications, are performed efficiently and effectively.
  • Supervise patient accounting functions and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and implement procedural and quality improvements within patient accounting environments.
  • Collaborate with other department supervisors, external organizations, and top management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in Revenue Cycle Billing Operations or a healthcare setting with experience in a lead or senior-level role.
  • PC skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Previous experience leading a patient accounting team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to train and supervise staff and to communicate effectively and collaboratively with other department supervisors, external organizations, and top management.
  • Ability to effectively address difficult and controversial issues.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency, knowledge, and regulations of revenue cycle processes and healthcare patient accounting practices and procedures.
