Position Overview:

The Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer operates with a high degree of autonomy, employing creativity and established protocols to bolster the Supplier Quality Management Strategy at Crane Aerospace & Electronics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain Director and other key stakeholders to set annual supplier quality goals.
  • Develop and maintain a Supplier Performance Scorecard to evaluate metrics such as quality and delivery.
  • Facilitate quarterly reviews with suppliers to assess performance and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Work closely with site Quality teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure robust corrective action plans are in place.
  • Conduct evaluations of suppliers' quality systems and process controls, driving necessary improvements.
  • Guide suppliers in creating and implementing quality control plans for specific commodities.
  • Perform first article inspections and audits of initial production batches.
  • Prepare management reports detailing quality status and supplier performance metrics.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are advantageous.
  • Proficient in applying engineering and quality science principles to enhance product quality and supplier performance.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Working Environment:
The role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel for technical meetings and supplier assessments. Standard safety equipment may be required in manufacturing settings.
