Preconstruction Manager

Scout Sport Floors is a leading athletic flooring company based in the Southeastern United States, specializing in the design, maintenance, and installation of hardwood and synthetic gymnasium floors. Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Preconstruction Manager to lead our estimating and preconstruction efforts. This role is crucial to our growth strategy and involves managing the bidding process, estimating costs, and collaborating with architects, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage bids and proposals for various projects.
- Oversee preconstruction activities, including site visits, field measurements, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with architects to review drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Break down drawings and blueprints to accurately estimate project costs.
- Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from public entities.
- Analyze unsuccessful bids to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment.
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager and Operations team to ensure seamless project handover.
- Track and manage project schedules and adjust estimates based on addendums.
- Bachelor's degree in building science, construction management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management.
- Familiarity with the public bid process and experience with government projects is a plus.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in estimating software and CAD is an advantage.
