The Charge Nurse position at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital is a key leadership role that requires a licensed professional Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in clinical nursing and leadership skills. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for creating an environment that promotes safe patient care, leading unit and shared governance activities, and serving as a clinical resource for staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Lead unit and shared governance activities, assess unit needs, and develop strategies to improve patient care and unit operations.
- Clinical Expertise: Provide clinical guidance and support to staff, participate in the creation of a continuous improvement environment, and promote situational awareness to ensure safe patient care.
- Education and Training: Develop and disseminate educational resources and programs to improve quality and professional practice, and serve as a clinical resource for staff.
- Quality and Safety: Model the standards of care related to the nursing process, participate in the creation of a continuous improvement environment, and promote situational awareness to ensure safe patient care.
- Finance and Operations: Implement department strategies to achieve financial targets, manage productivity, and oversee shift-by-shift resource utilization.
- Growth and Innovation: Foster identification and implementation of innovative solutions for practice changes, investigate and incorporate evidence-based practices, and support change initiatives.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Experience: Twenty-four months of clinical nursing experience with demonstration of progressive leadership skills.
- Licenses and Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
