We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at the US Department of Health and Human Services. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical care to patients in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and provide direct and comprehensive primary, therapeutic, and preventive medical care to individuals of all ages.
- Make diagnoses and decisions concerning medical needs of patients, formulate and implement plans of care, prescribe medications, and consult with other healthcare providers.
- Provide care and preventive services to healthy individuals, including guidance in nutrition, illness prevention, accident prevention, growth, and development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment protocols, standards of practice, and policies for ongoing quality improvement activities.
- Document data, patient assessment, and care plan in electronic health records.
- Teach and counsel patients and families on disease prevention and health maintenance techniques.
- Graduation from a physician assistant educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
- Successful completion of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination and maintenance of certification.
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician Assistant from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound judgments, and maintain confidentiality. The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation.
