Overview of the Position:
Wells Fargo is looking for a Tax Compliance Specialist within the Controllers Division. This position is integral to a team dedicated to managing the accounting for corporate income tax. The role will focus on the preparation of monthly provision processes and intercompany tax sharing calculations as part of our tax accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct global tax accounting tasks, particularly for the USA, to support monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions.
- Prepare documentation for quarterly and monthly tax provisions and assist in compiling year-end external tax audit materials.
- Facilitate the tax provision process by aiding in the maintenance of the monthly tax system and updating reports that assist in the closing process.
- Gather and process financial and income tax data.
- Prepare specific documentation related to intercompany tax sharing allocations.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and support internal audit processes.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Corporate Tax, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- At least 2 years of experience in corporate income tax.
- Experience with large corporate income tax returns or tax provisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
- Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and precision.
- Demonstrated capability to take on significant responsibility, initiative, and accountability.
- Familiarity with Longview, Essbase, and/or SmartView.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Adaptability to quickly adjust plans to meet evolving business needs.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is advantageous.
Job Expectations:
- Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time.
