Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Special Procedures Unit (SPU) at Hospital for Special Surgery. The SPU is an ambulatory center that performs non-operative treatment procedures on patients with musculoskeletal pain and injuries.

About the Role

This per diem position offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to patients and their families. Your expertise will include assessment, management, and education to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to maintain professional nursing standards in a clinical setting.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide clinical consultation, assessment, and management to patients.
  • Offer pre- and post-operative education to patients and family members on safety issues, medication, and equipment use.
  • Utilize computerized order communication systems for medical orders, test results, and documentation.
  • Analyze patient data, develop individualized care plans, and update them as needed.
  • Enter orders, complete medication reconciliation, and ensure timely execution of orders.
  • Integrate patient care standards into all clinical activities and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; FNP required.
  • A minimum of three years' clinical experience in an RN role.
  • Current NJ and NY licenses, registration, and certification in your area of practice (Nurse Practitioner).
  • BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.
  • DEA license required.
  • Board Certification required.

The estimated salary range for this position is $89,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience. This figure includes base pay and additional benefits consistent with the role. The hiring range may be modified in the future.
