Job Summary

Vermont State University is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team. This is a hybrid remote position with affiliation with a campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement human resources strategies to support the university's mission and goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on human resources-related matters.
  • Administer employee recognition and reward programs to improve workplace culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including equal employment opportunity and labor relations.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain a diverse and skilled workforce.
  • Manage the exit process and analyze turnover data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement performance management processes to support employee growth and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of human resources experience.
  • Proven track record of success in employee relations, recruitment, and retention.
  • Strong knowledge of human resources laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in human resources in an academic environment.
  • Experience working in human resources in a unionized environment.
  • SHRM or other applicable HR designation.
