POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist (LPN), you will operate under general supervision to deliver a blend of nursing services, patient education, and assessments throughout our facilities. Your role will involve participating in various nursing evaluations, providing direct patient care, and facilitating health education initiatives. The LPN is responsible for ensuring patient care aligns with the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by American Health Partners and relevant regulatory bodies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To excel in this position, you will need to effectively carry out the following essential functions:
- Oversee all patient treatments and care plans.
- Assist physicians and nursing leadership in patient examinations and treatment protocols.
- Perform administrative tasks including documentation of nursing notes, physician orders, discharge plans, and dietary modifications.
- Manage medication orders from the pharmacy, ensuring accurate preparation and administration as prescribed.
- Conduct and monitor assigned treatments, including dressing changes, blood draws, catheter management, and laboratory procedures.
- Execute emergency interventions such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and notify family members and relevant parties in the event of a patient’s passing.
- Maintain inventory and requisition necessary medical supplies and equipment.
- Facilitate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- A minimum of six (6) months of experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or long-term care facility.
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
- Possession of a current State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including potential unscheduled overtime and weekends.
- Travel may be required as part of the role.
- This position involves frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
