Position Overview

The Senior Accountant at THREAD BANK will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly Close Process: Execute essential tasks during the monthly closing cycle, which includes preparing and posting journal entries, overseeing sub-ledger interactions, and managing various accruals. Ensure timely analysis and submission of close-related deliverables, such as account reconciliations and various schedules.
  • Review and Oversight: Evaluate journal entries, reconciliations, and other deliverables prepared by junior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Prepare various regulatory and SEC filings, ensuring adherence to all relevant guidelines.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, overseeing control systems and transaction-processing operations.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Regularly assess accounting procedures to confirm that controls are functioning effectively and that efficiencies are maximized.
  • Audit Support: Aid in the preparation of documentation for both internal and external audits.
  • Research: Conduct research on regulatory, tax, and accounting guidelines to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense subledgers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior accountants, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist in the review of financial statements and month-end close analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with various departments to facilitate ongoing process enhancements and achieve operational efficiencies.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Take on cross-departmental responsibilities as needed to support organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA certification or a pathway to obtaining CPA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Corporate Accounting, preferably within the Banking and Financial Services sector.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to complete assignments accurately and confidentially within established deadlines.
  • Capability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software systems, along with familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
