Our 11th Floor at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 12-bed Pediatric Medical/Psychiatric Unit. This innovative unit provides comprehensive care to patients requiring medical and psychiatric services. Our interdisciplinary team, comprising psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians, nurse practitioners, social workers, chaplains, behavioral health nurses, and technicians, works together to deliver exceptional patient care.

Scope of Work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice, utilizes the nursing process to provide professional nursing care. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients. Our RNs work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and developing care plans.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold an Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing within 5 years.
  • Have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role.
  • Be a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
  • Obtain AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
