We are seeking a skilled Certified Nursing Assistant Medical Telemetry to join our team at St. James Hospital in Butte, Montana. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients with various medical needs.
Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges.
- Perform wound care, stoma care, and specimen collection as needed.
- Assist with equipment and tube care/management, including JP, hemovac, and nasogastric tubes.
- Order and maintain office and patient care floor stock/supplies.
- Perform the duties of unit secretary, including maintaining patient charts, responding to phone calls, and providing equipment care/cleaning.
- Assist physicians and RNs as directed.
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of practice.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval.
This role requires ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies. Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy is also required. Employee will be expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
